About this app

Paint photos of your house & buildings as though you were painting for real! SUPER EASY!

As you move your finger about, it really paints the house and looks REAL. Featured on TV3 in New Zealand as an innovative app for interior decorators.

* Paint ANY photo. Indoors or outdoors. In ANY colour. Even if you have unusual coloured walls already.

* One-touch painting. Touch a wall and its painted.
* Fine detailed, AI-assisted painting! Paint the wall by hand, and it automatically won't paint your TV or plants or door frames etc.

* Professional-grade realism: Unlike competitors, House Painter really is capable of painting the full gamut of colours: solid-black to solid-white, while looking realistic.

* Change colours instantly without waiting or re-painting.

* No difficult settings - just snap a photo and paint what you see. Its all automatic.

* Point your camera at interesting colours and watch your room change colour IN REAL TIME. No waiting!

* Match colours from objects in your room or other rooms
* Automatically works out all paint colour codes. Pick colours in all kinds of ways including typing paint codes.
* Supports multiple paint-charts including Pantone, RAL Design, British Standard, Resene and Dulux.
* Send paintings and 'paints used' charts to friends

* Designed to be VERY easy to use right from the start, with next to no controls. Its all automatic!
* Built-in help system, with step-by-step guides.

Featured on TV3's 'Tech Bytes' show in New Zealand.

It is the most sophisticated virtual painting app in existence, while also being the most simple to use. Everything is automatic because behind the scenes it uses artificial intelligence typically used for robots to see their world.

There is nothing else like this on Google Play, and several technologies were invented specifically for it.

Note: While House Painter looks real, its just a simulation - the paint can look a little different in real life. Use good photos with decent lighting for best results. Most photos work just fine.

hello. you just need a lot of light in the room so the app can make out the edges of the walls easier. also it won't drain your battery. unless you touch the screen it wont use any cpu, and it doesn't use the gpu. but you can get a refund if you like. just send me an email with ya purchase number thing.

This is a great way to help visualize color options for the inside and outside of your house. The user interface is a little goofy, but it works well once you figure everything out. My only complaint is that it's crashed a couple of times on both my phone and tablet and when restarting the app I've lost layers on paintings I've already completed. What's strange is that the preview of the painting still shows the completed work, but when I go to edit, it's missing lots of stuff. Overall, very useful!

Hi there! That crashing sounds really problematic. Its not good that you're losing work. Is there any way that you can make sure the app crashes? If you can get it to crash on demand then we could track down whats causing it. It might be to do with rotating the device. There has been a few crash-reports come in, so I'll be checking that out too.

What's new

Version 2.01:
* Default tool is now brush. More vibrant default colours.
* Portrait painting. Rotate your phone all you like.
* Multi-touch native: Two fingers to move, one finger to paint (no need for the arrows)
* New paint charts: Pantone, Benjamin Moore
* Support for larger photos
* Massive speed increases: at least 2x.
* Bug fixes everywhere: Most of House Painter is rewritten to be faster and more reliable.
The movement arrows & padlock are still available under settings.
